The Nebraska men’s basketball team opened the season with a 106-37 win over Mississippi Valley State last night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Glynn Watson Junior scored 19 points to lead four Huskers in double figures. Nana Akenten came off the bench with 18 points, James Palmer Junior had 17 and Isaac Copeland had 10.
The 69 point margin was the second highest margin in school history and the most since a school record 74 point win over Crete in the 1906-07 season.
Nebraska’s 106 points was its highest total since 2005, while Mississippi State’s 37 points was the fewest points Nebraska has allowed in 11 years.
The Huskers return to action on Sunday afternoon as they host Southeastern Louisiana. Tip off will be at 3:00pm.
