LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) Nebraska coach Tim Miles has announced that sophomore forward Jake Hammond is transferring at the end of the semester. The 6-foot-10 forward from Comanche, Oklahoma, was one of the Cornhuskers’ primary backups in the frontcourt this past season and averaged 2.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 29 games. He was third on the team in blocked shots and offensive rebounds while playing about 11 minutes a game. He had a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds in a career-high 25 minutes against Tennessee. Hammond was one of the top high school prospects in Oklahoma in 2013-14, averaging 26.2 points, 14.8 rebounds, 5.7 blocks and 3.1 steals as a senior for Comanche High School. Additionally, freshman walk-ons Tanner Borchardt and Johnny Trueblood will not be returning to the team.
