ARNOLD – According to a press release, the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department was paged to a small grass fire on Highway 92 just inside Logan County on Saturday, March 19 at around 2:45 pm.
Quick action by passing motorists stopped the fire from spreading in the dry grass with reported 20-30 mph winds at the time.
Investigation by the Arnold Volunteer Fire Department and the Nebraska State Patrol revealed a discharged firework at the scene.
The Nebraska State Patrol continues to investigate.
Nebraska statutes prohibit the throwing of fireworks from any motor vehicle onto any street, highway or sidewalk.
