Twin Loup's Michael Gibbens Shines as West Beats East in 8-Man All-Star Game

HASTINGS - Twin Loup's Michael Gibbens caught two touchdown passes and ran for another as the West beat the East 38-20 in the 40th Annual Sertoma 8-Man All-Star Football Game held on Saturday, June 17 at the Hastings College Football Complex. After trailing 8-6 at halftime, the West offense exploded in the third quarter. Burwell's Tyler Gideon added a receiving touchdown, Ansley-Litchfield's Brady Rohde ran for a score and Mullen's Lance Moore hit CWCE's Connor Croxen on a trick play during the West's offensive rally. Sandhills/Thedford's Jacey Nutter was named Offensive MVP for the West after rushing for 72 yards, while throwing for 66 yards and a pair of touchdowns. LeShaun Thornbar of Elm Creek was the defensive MVP for the West.
